Eight celebrities embark on an experimental adventure to India, to test whether they can set up a more rewarding retirement that in the UK. Entertainer Lionel Blair, wildlife presenter Bill Oddie, actress Amanda Barrie, former world snooker champion Dennis Taylor, TV personality Rustie Lee, doctor and author Miriam Stoppard, singer Sheila Ferguson and actor and singer Paul Nicholas take over a 16th century mansion in the heart of Old Kochi. Sheila, used to living on her own, is keen to make sure she gets what she wants out of the experience, but Lionel finds dealing with the realities of living in India unsettling.
