Last Sunday was the first day of Spring and we all hope you’re enjoying the wonderful sunshine we’re experiencing at the moment. If that wasn’t egg-citing enough, Easter is fast approaching so we thought we’d bring you some of our top titles for you to enjoy over the four-day weekend while enjoying your Easter eggs!

 Easter Eggs

First up is the quintessential Easter film, Easter Parade! Starring Fred Astaire and Judy Garland, this classic musical follows Broadway star Don Hewes who, after his dancing partner leaves him for another performer, is convinced that he can turn anyone into a star and makes chorus girl Hannah Brown his new dance partner. Featuring many egg-ceptional songs such as ‘A Couple of Swells’, ‘Stepping Out With My Baby’ and ‘Shaking the Blues Away’, it’s the perfect film to watch this weekend.

If you fancy something more traditional, you may enjoy The Passion which tells the story of Jesus’ last week from three different viewpoints - the Religious Authorities, the Romans and Jesus. This compelling drama stars James Nesbitt and David Oyelowo and the DVD features a wealth of extras including interviews and a photo gallery.

We also recommend The Vanishing of Pato. Based on the novel by Andrea Camilleri, it follows two polar opposite law enforcers who try to unravel the mysterious disappearance of an upstanding citizen, Antonio Pato, who seems to have vanished into thin air after appearing as Judas in the local Passion play. Full of witty dialogue, it’s perfect for fans of Andrea Camilleri and Inspector Montalbano – the story is set in the Sicilian detective’s home town of Vigata in 1890!
