One of my favourite British dramas is Line of Duty which is a high-octane police drama that offers a revealing insight into modern policing. The show is created by Jed Mercurio, who has since become one of the UK’s leading TV writers.

 Line of Duty

Series one follows Detective Sergeant Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) who is transferred to anti-corruption unit AC-12 which is headed up by Superintendent Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar).

The thrills and intrigue continue in Series 2 when AC-12 try to find DI Lindsay Denton (Keeley Hawes) who has survived the ambush of a police convoy. In 2015, the Second Series won the Royal Television Society Award for best Drama Series and was nominated for three BAFTA awards.

I was very happy to hear that the show will be returning to our screens shortly, so I suggest you watch Series One and Two first! The details surrounding Series Three are shrouded in secrecy, but we can reveal that Daniel Mays, who you can currently see in cinemas starring as Private Walker in the Dad’s Army, plays firearm sergeant Danny Waldron who finds himself under investigation. Will Mellor, Arsher Ali and Leanne Best also star. Watch this space for more details!
