Acorn Media have announced the early exclusive release of Garrow’s Law Series 2 on DVD. It is available in a single series boxset or as part of a Garrow’s Law boxset that also contains Series 1.

PIONEERING 18TH century barrister William Garrow returns to the Old Bailey to champion the rights of prisoners against the State.  But in the process he is making powerful enemies who are determined to destroy him by any means.

Garrow challenges a brutal trade that regards slaves as cargo not human beings; and defends a man accused of sodomy: a capital offence in Georgian England.  But his work becomes entwined with his personal life when he takes on the case of a British sailor out to expose the abuse of sailors in Greenwich Hospital. Garrow is thought to have mixed motives when he attacks the Admiralty establishment – and in particular Sir Arthur Hill.

Garrow has been accused of adultery with Hill’s wife, and will find himself on trial for ‘Criminal Conversation’.  Now the fight for justice has brought Garrow’s life to centre stage.  He must give the performance of a lifetime if he is to survive.

Garrow’s Law stars Andrew Buchan (Cranford, The Fixer) in the title role, alongside Alun Armstrong (Little Dorrit, New Tricks) as Garrow’s sidekick Southouse, Rupert Graves (Single Father) and Lyndsey Marshal (Rome).  The series was created by Tony Marchant (Holding On) based on real-life documents and cases from the Old Bailey in 18th century London.

Special Features include William Garrow: Fact and Fiction – an exclusive behind the scenes feature on the story of the man who inspired Garrow’s Law.
