A comedy actor and writer, Matt Lucas, first became a household name as part of the double act in the British comedy series Little Britain. Lucas, who also co-wrote Little Britain, has since appeared in many successful TV series and has even turned his hand to a handful of high-profile film roles.

So, to celebrate the release of Lucas’ newest TV series, Pompidou, we’ve collected together some of our favourite Matt Lucas roles.

A blockbuster film still taking the comedic world by storm. Released in 2011, Bridesmaids delivers cracking one-liners underpinned by a hilarious plot. Matt Lucas plays Aussie Rebel Wilson’s brother in the film called Gil. Not only did he not have to practice an American accent, Lucas also had some great lines throughout the film!

Alice in Wonderland

With an A-list cast starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, amongst others, the Alice in Wonderland film was a modern take on the 1865 classic by Lewis Carroll. In this iconic twisted fairy tale, Matt Lucas played the equally iconic Tweedledee and Tweedledum characters. Having one part in this massive movie is one thing, but playing two roles is even better.

Come Fly with Me

A spin-off series to Little Britain, Come Fly with Me, was written and produced by both David Walliams and Matt Lucas. The series started in 2010 and finished in 2011 and Lucas, as with Little Britain, played many characters throughout the Come Fly with Me series, including Mikey Minchin, Fearghal O’Farrell and Keeley St Clair.

Lucas’ newest TV series, Pompidou, is waiting in the side-lines for release in October 2015, and is available to pre-order from Acorn now. With behind the scenes footage, special effects and music, audio commentaries and of course, the best bit, the bloopers (and much more); this is a TV series you’ll enjoy watching again and again.
